At Dr. Ostad’s New York dermatology practice, we strive to provide the best possible solution for each patient. Because every person is unique, we utilize a wide variety of devices and products to accomplish that goal. One of the most powerful and versatile lasers in our collection is the renowned Fraxel Co2.

About the Procedure

This laser is well-known for its nearly instant benefits in reducing signs of sun damage, wrinkles, and poor complexion. The device delivers precise levels of laser energy to the skin’s surface, causing upper layers to rapidly shed.

Because Fraxel works with fractionated Co2 energy, it stimulates cell turnover and skin rejuvenation, with minimal discomfort or side effects. You will experience skin flaking for about a week after treatment. As the old dead, dying, and damaged cells slough off, a beautifully youthful and healthy layer will emerge.

It is especially important that you protect treated skin from the sun’s harmful rays after laser treatment. Some people choose to schedule procedures such as Fraxel Co2 during the winter months, when they spend more time indoors and the sun is less intense.

However, it can be performed safely at any time of year, providing you take appropriate precautions including protective clothing, staying in the shade, and wearing high-SPF sunscreen as recommended by your doctor.

Caring about our patients and our community: An update on the coronavirus outbreak

Hello Everyone,

The health and safety of our patients and staff is our top priority. Our practice is following guidance from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), New York State and city health officials as we schedule patients.

Our practice is open.

There are steps our practice is taking, and those we ask our patients to take, to ensure the safety of all. We have further increased cleaning practices across the office and our ambulatory surgical facility. We ask if you feel you have any respiratory symptoms with cough or fever that you seek care from your primary care physician.

We hope to continue to serve you and provide you with our services. We continue to be guided by our unwavering mission and long standing values to care for our patients.

If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to call our office to speak with one of our office staff or nurses or email us at [email protected]

We will come out of this stronger and more resilient than before.

With thanks for your cooperation,

- Dr. Ariel Ostad
