What should I expect with pigmentation treatment?
After a consultation and careful evaluation, Dr. Ostad will custom-tailor a New York pigmentation treatment plan for you. Options for treatment may include any of the following:
Chemical peel: a chemical peel is a topical treatment that improves skin quality. The different types of chemical peels are light (superficial), medium, and deep. A series of medium peels may be recommended to treat sun damage and pigmentation irregularities, such as freckles, age spots, and melasma.
Fraxel dual laser: the non-ablative Fraxel dual laser does not remove skin layers. Instead, it triggers rapid cell turnover, for dramatic results with minimal downtime. Fraxel dual laser treatment can treat a range of skin issues, including age spots and sun damage.
Microinfusion: microinfusion is a painless and effective procedure that combines microneedling with powerful, skin rejuvenating products to improve a variety of skin issues, including sun damage.
Microdermabrasion: by exfoliating dead skin cells from the surface layer of skin, microdermabrasion improves age spots, brown spots, sun damage and freckles.
Fraxel® CO2 laser: this device delivers precise levels of laser energy to the surface of the skin, causing the upper layers to shed and stimulating cell renewal and skin rejuvenation. This is an effective treatment to reduce sun damage and signs of aging.
Topical lightening creams and daily sunsreen use: There are many effective topical lightening creams available for those with hyperpigmentation. We are happy to recommend some excellent treatments. We also suggest using a good suncreen daily to help protect your skin.
