Patients who are interested in reducing the appearance of pigmentation, sun damage, fine lines, shallow acne scars, blemishes and certain types of acne, can benefit from consulting with our medical aesthetician and nurses. They will examine your skin and suggest a customized treatment plan that can include peeling in combination with other skin treatments.
Our office now offers the LUMA™ I & LUMA™ II Peel Skin Lightening System, a new class of chemical peels that does not burn, injure or damage the dermis and targets those suffering from melasma, acne scars, freckles and sun damage. Created by board certified Dermatologist and Dermatologic Surgeon, Dr. Ariel Ostad, the LUMA™ Peel is offered exclusively, and mixed on-the-spot, at our New York City practice. With two different strengths available, the LUMA™ I Peel & LUMA™ II peels are perfect for any skin type and help improve texture and appearance of hyperpigmented skin within two weeks.
The LUMA™ I & LUMA™ II Peels are applied during an office visit, where the special peel masque is compounded freshly to ensure potency and reliability. Patients will leave the office with the peel masque on their face and remove it at home adhering to strict timing (based on your skin type), maintenance and upkeep instructions from Dr. Ostad.

Microdermabrasion treatments are used to treat age spots, acne scars, stretch marks, fine wrinkles or flaking skin. It is a safe, non-surgical, comprehensive approach to skin care. Generally there is a down time (healing process) associated with chemical peels and laser resurfacing. However, with our power peel skin treatment program, you can see immediate improvement in your skin’s appearance with no down time. This unique approach removes dead and flaking skin cells and stimulates the production of fresh young skin cells and collagen. Microdermabrasion can also reduce the appearance of acne scars. Treatment involves the use of micro-crystals vacuumed through a delicate handpiece, held at a precise angle to the skin. In as little as twenty minutes this gentle abrasive technique efficiently produces satisfying results. Treatments are applied through a course of weekly sessions. These treatments enhance skin conditioning and can be used on all skin types and colors.
