The Luma II Peel represents a new generation of chemical peels that help reduce fine lines, wrinkles and brown spots (hyperpigmentation). The LUMA II Peel uses weak acids combined with potent non-acidic ingredients that do not burn, wound or injure the skin, and for this reason can be used to treat patients with darker complexions. While some patients may feel a mild tingling sensation from the peeling solution, the treatment is virtually painless.
What is the LUMA™ II Peel?
- A superficial chemical peel combining three natural, non-corrosive acids to help smooth and brighten skin with reduced risk of of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
- It has less erythema and peeling than the standard LUMA I Peel.
- Can be performed in a series of 4-6 treatments every 2-3 weeks for enhanced effects.
- Comprehensive home-care products help amplify and extend peel benefits.
How does it work?
LUMA II Solution is applied during an in-office visit. The solution is removed by the patient after a required length of time depending on his or her skin type. Patients leave the office with this solution on their face. Patients are responsible for adhering to an easy-to-follow, but strict, at-home regimen involving the application of several LUMA products following removal of the LUMA II Peel solution.
What results can I expect?
Results will vary but generally patients will see an improvement in the texture and appearance of hyperpigmented skin. Although most patients experience peeling of their skin, not every patient will notice this. If you do not notice actual peeling, please know that you are still receiving all the benefits of the LUMA II Peel, such as: stimulation of collagen production, improvement of skin tone and texture, and diminishment of fine lines, pigmentation and breakouts. Proper skin evaluation by your doctor prior to your peel is important and will help predict the outcome of your peel.
How does the LUMA II Peel compare to the standard LUMA I Peel™ Skin Lightening System?
There is considerably less redness and peeling than the standard LUMA I Peel. The LUMA I Peel is designed to be administered in a series of 4-6 in-office treatments, every 2-3 weeks, for enhanced skin brightening and smoothing.
