Luma 1 Peels

Do you have uneven skin tone, deep pigment issues or melasma? The LUMA I Peel Skin Lightening System is a superficial peel designed to improve the texture and appearance of hyperpigmented skin which involves a medicated masque and an at-home regimen. There is no pain and little-to-no irritation during the application of the mask, and typically, the irritation level in the days that follow are more like a sun burn.

What is the LUMA™ I Peel Skin Lightening System?

  • The first standardized, non-acid chemical peel combining Arbutin and Vitamin A
  • Virtually painless, robust epidermal peeling without burning, wounding or injuring the skin
  • Reduced risk of post-inflammatory hyper-pigmentation facilitates treatment of higher Fitzpatrick skin types
  • Compounded freshly at the time of treatment assures potency and Reproducibility

How does it work?

The LUMA I Masque is applied during an office visit where it is compounded freshly by the nurse to ensure its potency and reliability. The masque is removed by the patient after a required length of time depending on their skin type. Patients leave the office with this masque on their face. Patients are responsible for adhering to an easy-to-follow, but strict, at-home regimen involving the application of several LUMA I products following masque removal.

What results can I expect?

Results will vary but generally patients will see a significant improvement in the appearance of pigmented areas. Dark spots will lighten and skin texture and tone will improve. Although most patients experience peeling of their skin, not every patient will notice this. If you do not notice actual peeling, please know that you’re still receiving all the benefits of The LUMA I Peel Skin Lightening System, such as: stimulation of collagen production, improvement of skin tone and texture, as well as diminishing fine lines and pigmentation. A proper skin evaluation by your doctor prior to your peel is important and will help predict the outcome of your peel.

Who should not be treated?

The LUMA I Peel Skin Lightening System SHOULD NOT be used on patients with active cold sores or warts, skin with open wounds, sunburn, excessively sensitive skin, dermatitis or inflammatory rosacea in the area to be treated. Inform your medical professional if you have any history of herpes simplex. You should also not have a LUMA I Peel Skin Light aiing System if you have a history of allergies, rashes or other skin reactions, or may be sensitive to any of the components of this treatment. This peel is not recommended if you have taken Accutane within the past year, or received chemotherapy or radiation therapy. The LUMA I Peel System should not be administered to pregnant or breastfeeding (lactating) women.
